Slick track winner! Burton Brown (#07) made it to the finish of the Super Late Model dash before the rains fell, getting credit for the first victory in the division on the new asphalt.

Qualifying was completed with Jeff Weinfurter claiming quick time in the Super Late Model division, while Shawn Stelzer nabbed the honors in the Super Stocks.

Surprise visitors in the Late Model pits included Michigan's Dave Phillips, Minnesota's Trent Snyder and Dells Motor Speedway regular Frank Kreyer.

The Super Stock dash was won by Mike Doughty who held off Cary Lyons.  The rain began to fall on the final lap of the Late Model dash where Burton Brown slipped acrossed the finish line ahead of Mark Eswein. All the cars managed to negotiate safely off the racetrack without incident on the slippery surface.

Rain remained steady throughout the next half-hour and as a result a decision was made to cancel the remainder of the program. The race was considered an incomplete show, and no points or money were awarded, as pit passes and ticket stubs will be honored next week.

Racing will start from scratch for the weekly division. The Super Late Models and Super Stocks will be joined by the 4 Cylinders, and the Mid-American Stock Cars will make a return trip to present their last chance and feature events.

Gates will open at 10:30 a.m., with qualifying at 12:30 p.m. Racing will begin at 2:00 p.m., next Sunday Afternoon.

Weekly Friday Night racing begins May 4th.  For more info check out www.goldensandsspeedway.com
