Tickets are now on sale for the National Fireworks Association (NFA) Expo, held September 7 – 10, 2011 in Portage County. The public is invited to attend the fireworks display, to be held at Golden Sands Speedway, 10992 Highway 54 East.
The Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau worked with members of the NFA to bring the event to Portage County. The event, which caters to firework retailers, will bring in approximately 750 people from throughout the Nation, as well as China.
On Wednesday, September 7 & Thursday, September 8, there will be no advance ticket sales. The cost for general admission is $5.00 per person at the gate. The show format on Wednesday and Thursday is such that 6-8 firework manufacturers have approximately 20 minutes each to demonstrate their product line one firework (cake) at a time. At the end of some demo’s there may be a mini show/finale similar to what is seen at Riverfront Rendezvous.
On Friday, September 9 & Saturday, September 10 there will be no general admission tickets sold. All tickets must be purchased in advance at the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau or at the Golden Sands Speedway. Ticket prices are; $10.00 (13 years of age and older) and $5.00 (ages 12 and under).
The format for Friday, September 9th will be similar to Wednesday and Thursday, but after concluding the demos, the evening will end with a large fireworks show by Bartolotta Fireworks.
The format for Saturday, September 10th will be nothing but spectacular! Four (4) major firework companies (Spirit of 76 fireworks, Dominator Fireworks, Kellner Fireworks, Liberty Fireworks) will be going head to head for a National Fireworks Association, fireworks competition. The evening will conclude with a huge fireworks display by Wolverine Fireworks.
For all days, the gate will open at 6:30, firework demo at dusk. Rows 1, 2, 12, 13 & 14 in each section will be for lawn chairs with a space of 30” for each chair. Handicap seating is available by calling and ordering tickets at Golden Sands Speedway. All tickets are non-refundable. The demo may be cancelled due to bad weather.
Tickets sold at the SPACVB can take place via phone or walk-in. All phone orders must be paid for within 14 days of ordering. If mailing check, please send a self-addressed paid envelope so that tickets may be sent to purchaser.
