Golden Sands Speedway Names Scott Hoeft as Competition Director
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI — March 6, 2026 — Golden Sands Speedway today announced the appointment of Scott Hoeft as its new Competition Director. Hoeft brings extensive track-side experience and a deep understanding of race operations to the speedway’s leadership team, where he will oversee pit operations and serve as a direct resource for drivers throughout the racing season.
Hoeft joins Golden Sands Speedway after key roles at nearby tracks, including flagman at Jefferson Speedway and Race Director at Slinger Super Speedway. His hands-on background in race-day safety, rules enforcement, and driver relations makes him well positioned to maintain high standards of competition and streamline pit procedures at Golden Sands.
In his role as Competition Director, Hoeft will manage all pit activities, coordinate with race officials and marshals, and assist race teams with technical or procedural issues as they arise. He will also work closely with the speedway’s existing staff to refine pre-race inspections, improve communications between crews and officials, and ensure consistent application of track rules. The appointment is designed to enhance driver support and improve operational efficiency on race nights.
“Golden Sands has a proud tradition of competitive, family-friendly racing,” said Hoeft. “I’m excited to join a talented team and to help maintain a safe, fair, and fun environment on and off the track. Making sure the integrity of our sport is upheld through fair competition is key. My goal is to make pit procedures clearer, speed communication, and be a reliable point of contact for competitors and crews."
Track management said the hire strengthens Golden Sands’ commitment to safety and driver experience while building on the speedway’s reputation in the regional racing community. The addition of a dedicated Competition Director reflects increased focus on consistency, faster issue resolution during events, and professional development for track officials.
Golden Sands Speedway invites race teams and fans to meet Scott Hoeft at upcoming track events. Further details about operational updates and driver briefings will be announced through the speedway’s regular channels.
